Match reports from last week's final held in Greencastle.

GROUP GAMES:

The Sperrin Og girls progressed through the final stages of the Feile by beating Cookstown and Dromore with their opponents Castlederg winning through by beating a fancied Errigal Ciaran team and Aodh Ruadh on the way.

A narrow one point victory over a well improved Cookstown side 0-6 to 1-3 with scores from Rebecca Coyle (0-3), Rachel McAleer (0-2) and a point from Emma Barr Kelly.

The next game ended in a 2-7 to 0-4 victory over Dromore. Scorers Shauna Morris (1-0),  Claire Tuohey (0-3), Rachel McAleer (1-1) and Rebecca Coyle (0-3).


GRADE 1 FINAL: Sperrin Óg  vs  Castlederg

The final got off to an excellent start with a goal after thirty seconds by Rebecca Coyle followed by a point from Claire Tuohey.

Sperrin Óg continued to dominate with goals from Rachel McAleer after three and five minutes and another brace of points from Claire Tuohey. 

Constant pressure meant it was fourteen minutes before Castlederg got a point closely followed by another just before the short whistle.

Sperrin Og started with another point from Claire Tuohey and a goal From Rachel McAleer.

A penalty scored by Castlederg offered a glimmer of hope but resolute defending by Orla Coyle, Michela McBride and Caolileann Conway snuffed out a lot of attacks.

Two goals from Niamh Coyle (5mins) and Rachel McAleer (8mins) with points from Rebecca Coyle (0-3) and Claire Tuohey (0-1) sealed an historic victory for the Sperrin Óg girls.

A great team effort with Caoileann Conway ,Orla Coyle ,Michaela McBride and Tegan McDermott all excellent in defence. Midfield more than held their own with Niamh Coyle and Lauryn Hollywood covering a lot of ground. Up front, the tireless running of Claire Tuohey was the catalyst for an excellent four goal return from Rachel McAleer and some terrific scores from Rebecca Coyle.
