News: McDermott the king for 'Castle
Date: 12th March 2007

GREENCASTLE 0-13
DUAGH 0-12

SOME expert finishing by Terry McDermott inspired Tyrone side Greencastle to glory in the All-Ireland junior football club championship final at Croke Park on Saturday night.

McDermott's tally of six points, two from free-kicks, helped the Ulster champions overcome their skillful Kerry opponents Duagh in an enthralling match.

Greencastle would have been dead and buried but for McDermott's sharp-shooting in the first half, while captain Martin Conway also played a key role as the game swung back and forth.

Duagh never gave up but in the end the men from Tyrone hung on.
