1952
At
the 1952 North Tyrone Convention, Hugh Sally was elected Vice-Chairman
and T. McDermott became Treasurer. It appears that in 1952,
Greencastle played in the North Tyrone League and the West
Tyrone Championship. Greencastle met Newtownstewart and were
defeated on the score 3-03 to 2-01. The last recorded league
table in 1952 shows Greencastle once more on top.

That
season proved to be the last in which a Greencastle team appeared
in competitive football for 17 years. At the beginning of
1953, P.J. Clarke, M. McCrory, T. O'Donnell and T. McDermott
were transferred to Gortin. Once again the curse of emigration,
coupled with the small population ensured that through the
rest of the 50's and early 60's, there were insufficient numbers
to field a team. All through that period, players from the
Parish played for neighbouring club namely, Gortin, Carrickmore,
Kildress, Creggan and Omagh.
