1950
The
club reverted to Junior status in 1950. However the Championship
came to a quick conclusion when Cappagh defeated Greencastle
in a replay of the first round of the Championship by 0-19
to 0-02. A highlight of the year was a very successful Sports
Day run by the club on 24th September in spite of bad weather.
Incidentally Sports Day run by the club have often coincided
with bad weather.
1951
In
1951 Greencastle joined the North Tyrone League. Other teams
in the North Tyrone League were Omagh, Urney, Drumquin, Cappagh,

elected Treasurer of the North Tyrone Board.
In
the first round of the League, Greencastle defeated Cranagh
by 1-06 to 1-05. Scorers were: M. Clarke 1 goal, T. McDermott
3 pts, T. Donnelly 2 pts, E. Fox 1 pt. By this time, the team
personnel had changed dramatically with many new players bu
now arriving on the scene. The following is a panel of players
published at that time: A. McAleer, C. Donnelly, E. Fox, F.H.
McBride, J. Donnelly, M. Bradley, T. McDermott, F. Donnelly,
M. Clarke, P. McCullagh, P.J. Clarke, P. Glass, J. McGurk,

The
last published league table in 1951 shows Greencastle on top
with 8 pts from 6 games followed by Cranagh with 6 pts from
4 games and Newtownstewart with 6 pts from 3 games. Greencastle
won a further game against Aughabrack, but there is no other
evidence of how the league finished.
